Hunt Slonem's flair and admiration for far-flung destinations has been a staple of his life since childhood. His father's position as a Navy officer meant the family moved often during his formative years and he would continue to seek out travel opportunities as a young-adult. Experiences studying abroad in Nicaragua and Mexico imbued him with an appreciation for tropical landscapes that would influence his unique style.
Ever-inspired by nature, and his beloved pet birds, Slonem is renowned for his distinct neo-expressionist style and is best known for his series of bunnies, butterflies and tropical birds. After decades of honing his aesthetic, the artist’s impressive career has entered yet another phase.
As though they have been pulled directly from his paintings, Slonem's famous muses have found homes among the landscapes of botanical gardens, the perfect backdrop for his monumental exhibitions.
